CWB Welder - Apprentice

Operating out of a 58,000 square foot facility with 75 ton of overhead crane capacity in 2 bays allowing Hydra to be a highly agile fabricator.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
• Understand weld symbols
• Weld in all positions
• Conduct required pre-job/pre-task inspections
• Complete scheduled work in cooperation with the Foreman
• Maintain a tidy, clean and safe work area
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment at all times
• Perform basic cutting and welding of mild steel

Requirements:

• Must be a registered apprentice
• Experience with structural fabrication
• Experience using various hand tools (grinders, oxy/acetylene torches etc.)
• CWB FCAW/MCAW/SMAW certifications
• Maintain safe work practices as outlined in company policies
• Commitment to safety and safe work procedures
• Self-motivated
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to work with little supervision
